An Autumn Evening
Paris is one of those cities where residents can leisurely wander and find easily a peaceful place to get a bit of rest. Just yesterday, I was walking around in my favorite neighborhood located in the 7th arrondissement. The wind was blowing hard and the branches of the trees were swaying violently, dropping their dead leaves on the damp ground. A stream of cold air swept over my face and I decided to take refuge in the well-known Bar, the Gloster.
A special atmosphere emerges from this charming cocktail bar with a pleasant light diffusing a wonderful ambient. The peace that you can feel in this place is unique, filled with good sensations. The elegance of the setting and the soft and relaxing background music led me to dream and memories. My eyes stopped for a moment on a candle that gave this place a romantic touch and that brought back happy memories. One an Autumn night, there was a thunder storm but I decided to meet Elena in a Bar where she made me discover a famous and fabulous cocktail, the Bloody Mary!
When the waiter came to my table, I choose this spicy and sunny drink made up of vodka and tomato juice that reminded me a good memory.
Mysterious Origins
My dear readers, please note that several legends are related to this cocktail. The Bloody Mary was invented at Harry's Bar in Paris in the 1920s, concerning the origin of his name, the opinions are divided.
Legend spoke that the famous American author Ernest Hemingway asked for an "odourless" cocktail in order not to raise any suspicions of his wife whom he called “Bloody Mary”.
For some people, the Bloody Mary is directly associated with the name of Marie I, also known as Marie Tudor. The Queen of England, during her reign, had recourse to bloody acts to restore Catholicism, this brutal repression earned the nickname of “Bloody Mary”.
