The Piña Colada

AN EXOTIC COCKTAIL

My dear readers,

The Piña Colada rhymes with holidays, beautiful summer evenings, sun and palm trees. This exotic cocktail, thanks to its original recipe, takes us on a journey of taste!

The Piña Colada literally means "pressed pineapple juice", this cocktail made from rum, pineapple juice and coconut cream, is certainly one of the most famous cocktails in the hexagon.

Relax under the coconut trees sipping this delicious mixture is a dream but often transformed or poorly imitated, it happens to taste Piña Colada not having the original taste that made its success.

I like to sip this delicious drink at the Gloster Bar, the ingredients are fresh and tasty, and the taste is authentic. The warm and tropical decoration of this cocktail bar transports me to the West Indies, on a beautiful white sand beach with deep and clear waters...

A NATIONAL DRINK

Do you know, dear readers, the history of the Piña Colada?

The Piña Colada was invented in Puerto Rico in 1954 by Don Romon Marrero. The famous bartender wanted to create a drink that would bring back all the flavours of Puerto Rico!

Don Romon Marrero tried different dosages of pineapple juice, rum and coconut cream for more than 3 months and finally stopped on the recipe of the tasty Piña Colada cocktail. In 1974, the famous cocktail is declared as a national drink in Puerto Rico!

Please note, my kind readers, that a good Piña Colada is prepared with coconut cream and not with coconut milk!

The Piña Colada reminds us holidays with its exotic flavours and if you do not have a beach at your fingertips, do not hesitate to go to the Gloster Bar!

See you soon!
